While attending New Student Enrollment, students will get their student ID card known as the NCard. The NCard will become their all-access pass to campus. (UNL has replaced the use of the Social Security number with the NU ID number. The NU ID number is the 8-digit number above the barcode on the front of the card.)
NCards are used for:
Identification
Door/building access
Meal plans
Free newspapers for all students
Campus purchases
Laundry machines in the dorms
Access to the Rec Center and intramural games
Checking out library books
Obtaining parking permits and/or bus passes
Laptop checkout
Admission to the Health Center
Entrance to UPC events (cultural, educational and entertainment programs)
Voting for ASUN student government officials
Free admission to regular season athletic events (discounted football and men's basketball tickets)
Every student has the option of opening an NCard charge account. To open the account, simply apply online. Merchants across both campuses accept the NCard as a form of payment. Each month your charges will be sent to the Consolidated Bill. Please look to the Student Accounts section for information on the Consolidated Bill.
The NCard's Account Services page allows students and parents to monitor spending on the NCard charge account. Click here to access Account Services. Follow the login prompts to create your account. The NPIN will be given to the student at the time the NCard charge account is opened.
The options don't stop there. Students that choose to link their NCard to a Wells Fargo checking account can use their NCard in any Wells Fargo ATM or make purchases off campus.
If the NCard has been lost or stolen, notify the NCard Office immediately to prevent misuse by another party. Students will not be held responsible for any charges made with the NCard after the time it is reported to the NCard Office. Report lost or stolen cards in person at the NCard Office, online or by phone at (402) 472-7331. If it's after hours, leave a message with the student's name and ID number.
